Here at Aldi, we strive to be better every
day so we’re replacing plastic trays across
all of our premium Specially Selected
Steaks with 100% home compostable trays.
Developed exclusively for us, and the first
of their kind in Ireland, the trays are
made from fully renewable sugarcane
which can easily be disposed of in your
brown bin or compost heap.
This change alone will see more than
67 tonnes of recyclable plastic and
52 tonnes of cardboard removed from
Aldi’s 145 Irish stores each year. Amazing!
But it doesn’t stop there, by 2022 we
have pledged to make 100% of our own
label packaging recyclable, reusable or
home compostable.
