Staycation tips
When it comes to staycations and cooking,
here are some tips to eat well and spend less.
1. M
ake a meal plan and shopping list for
breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
2 . Check out where your nearest Aldi is
to where you will be staying. Drop in to
do your shop or find a store that offers
Click & Collect and collect it when you
reach your staycation destination. Or, if
you don’t feel like shopping, have your
shopping Deliverood!
3. K eep it simple and make meals that you
can use the leftovers the next day.
4. If your accommodation has a
freezer, cook ahead and batch cook
to bring along.
5. Have some meals that do not require
cooking, such as sandwiches, wraps,
cheese and crackers or antipasto
platters. Have dips, breadsticks and
nuts for snacking.
6. Go for convenience when you can – use
microwave rice, pre-chopped potatoes,
freshly cut vegetables and salad.
