Richard Bampfield is a highly regarded
Master of Wine (one of less than
five hundred in the world!) and our
independent lead taster. Richard provides
us with the tasting notes, ratings and
gradings for every one of our renowned
Wine Cellar collections. To Master
of Wine is to hold an internationally
recognised qualification of expertise. The
title is granted by the Institute of Masters
of Wine following a series of intense
examinations. Whether in-store, online
or in our magazines, as you browse our
selection of wines you'll notice a number
beside each bottle, ranging from 80 to
100. This is the rating given by Richard,
which denotes Good, Very Good and
Outstanding bottles.
