Responsibilities of the Food Handler
Make sure that food items delivered match those that were ordered, and that the food information available to
customers matches exactly what is being used each day
Store major allergens like nuts, peanuts and seeds separately and in lidded containers that are marked or colour
coded if possible.
Make sure worktops and all equipment are thoroughly cleaned. This includes chopping boards, knives, mixers,
bowls, pots, pans, griddles and utensils.
Use detergent and hot water to clean items and surfaces.
Where relevant, dismantle equipment to make sure that all food residues are removed.
Be familiar with information on recipes and ingredients and have relevant information available for consumers
at point of sale.
